Tom Sandoval hopes Rachel Leviss can find "peace" in her life.

The 40-year-old reality star split from Ariana Madix after it emerged that he had a months-long affair with Rachel - but Tom ultimately hopes that she finds peace and happiness after Rachel quit 'Vanderpump Rules'.

He told PEOPLE: "She obviously didn’t come back on the show. I’m hoping she just moves on, you know. Finds her peace, and I’m wishing her the best."

Tom and Rachel, 29, were both widely criticised after news of their affair became public knowledge.

And Tom admits that he initially struggled to deal with the controversy.

He shared: "It was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to face on such a regular basis. It was very, very challenging and very, very just emotional at times.

"I think after everything, I just want people to remember I’m definitely not perfect. But I am a human being. I’m not a character, you know?"

Meanwhile, Rachel previously took to social media to apologize to Ariana.

She wrote on Instagram: "I want to apologize for my actions and my choices foremost to Ariana, and to my friends and the fans so invested in our relationships. There is no excuse, I am not a victim and I must own my actions and I deeply regret hurting Ariana."

Rachel also promised to reflect on her mistakes, admitting that she needed to make "healthier choices".

She said: "I am reflecting on my choices, speaking to a counselor and I am learning things about myself such as my patterns of codependency and addiction to being and feeling loved. I have sought emotional validation through intimate connections that are not healthy without regard for my own well-being, sometimes negatively affecting others and often prioritizing the intimate connection over my friendships. I am taking steps to understand my behavior and make healthier choices."
