Pop star and actress Selena Gomez wants to have her own children with Benny Blanco "eventually", and in doing so she wants to break the "taboo" surrounding non-traditional paths to motherhood.

The 34-year-old singer and actress previously admitted she cannot carry children, but the Lose You to Love Me hitmaker - who married record producer Benny Blanco last year - is determined to have kids one day to help break the "taboo" surrounding non-traditional paths to motherhood.
Speaking about her non-profit initiative Rare Impact Fund - which aims to raise $100 million over 10 years to expand youth mental health services and education - at Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York City, she said: "I think what makes me proud is knowing that we're truly making a difference.
"I think there's a bunch of stigma around everything and I have a 13-year-old sister who means the world to me, and eventually I'll have my own children, and this is something that I don't want to be taboo.
"I don't mind if people think it's 'out there', but I love what we have accomplished and I think we'll just continue to grow in that manner and hopefully continue to do great things."
In 2024, Selena revealed she is unable to carry her own children.
She told Vanity Fair magazine: "I haven’t ever said this... but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children.
"I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy… that was something I had to grieve for a while."
