Bill Murray has admitted that constantly being asked for selfies while he’s out and about can be “hard”.
The 76-year-old actor has long been a favourite in Hollywood thanks to roles in movies such as Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day.
But his celebrity status means that he’s often approached by his devoted followers asking for a selfie when he goes out, which can sometimes be tricky to deal with.
Asked if he considers such attention a “burden” during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bill replied: “If you’re living correctly, it’s not a burden. But if you’re stuck in something else, then yeah, it’s hard.
“It’s just like another aspect of life. Something gets going, and you get attached to something — or something attaches to you — and you’re not free…to operate the way you wish to operate.”
Bill added that sometimes he’s in the mood to deal with the attention from fans, such as when he flies commercial.
He said: “I had a lot of energy, so I found myself having these sort of episodes with people in the airports. They’re fun.
“It’s not always difficult. It’s just a much higher number of events than ordinary life. The percentages are the same — it’s just that the numbers are different.”
