Vinta Morgan has hailed his Coronation Street co-star Sue Devaney as "the eighth wonder of the world".

The pair have been at the centre of Debbie Webster's (Devaney) emotional dementia storyline on the ITV soap and Vinta - who portrays Ronnie Bailey on the show - says he has "lucked out" getting to work with her on such an important plot.

He told Inside Soap magazine of his co-star: "She is absolutely amazing. I call her the eighth wonder of the world! She is just total happiness in one person.

"And as an actor, I lucked out working with her. I'm like a little kid, getting to the sweet shop waiting to go and see what we're going to do today!"

Debbie was first diagnosed with dementia in April 2025 and Vinta praised Corrie bosses for letting the story play out over an extended period of time.

The 57-year-old actor said: "It's been great as we've taken our time and that's allowed the story to really make an impact. We let the audience embrace this relationship that is full of love and togetherness, but there's this elephant in the room, something that's going to redirect things into a different territory.

"It's a very humbling and harrowing experience for Ronnie because he's the kind of guy who takes on all challenges with strength and conviction, but this is showing a vulnerable side that he's not as accustomed to."

Vinta explained there will be "more and more moments" when the disease impacts both Ronnie and Debbie as the storyline progresses.

Asked what's coming next for the couple, he said: "Obviously, there are going to be more and more moments where the disease shows its face.

"Also, you've met Debbie, she's a person who's been able to live life by her own means, not needing anybody. Being in a position where she knows that she's going to need people is not a place she wants to be. However, when Ronnie made his vows, he meant them."

Meanwhile, Vinta has hinted that he could find himself at loggerheads with cobbles newcomer Idris Nazir (Junade Khan).

He said: "Ronnie has a very strong moral compass and believes in trying to take the right course.

"If there is a situation in which he thinks something is not going the way it should, he will try to fight the good fight. So, there's a scenario where he locks horns with Idris..."
