Joel Dommett reveals reason for quitting I'm A Celebrity...Unpacked
Joel Dommett will not be co-hosting I'm A Celebrity...Unpacked alongside Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers when the spin-off show returns later this year.
Joel Dommett has quit I'm A Celebrity...Unpacked to be at home with his wife and children.
The comic wants to spend late November and December in the UK with Hannah and their sons, Wilde and Dutch, rather than in Australia fronting the ITV jungle survival show's spin-off with Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers, who are staying on as hosts.
Joel, 41, posted multiple pictures of him as a campmate on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016, where he finished runner-up to Gogglebox alum Scarlett Moffatt, and then fronted its spin-off shows which had different titles.
The entertainer wrote over a selfie of him, and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!'s 50-year-old hosts, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly: "It's time to say goodbye to my time hosting the I'm A Celeb extra show. (sic)"
Joel then shared a photo of the Geordie duo's names tattooed on each of his ankles, and joked: "Not just because of the restraining order."
The third shot was of him, Scarlett, 35, Waterloo Road alum Adam Thomas, 37, and Olympic field hockey player Sam Quek, 37, in the jungle in 2016, and Joel added: "It's been 10 years since I went in there as a campmate."
Joel then added pictures of him and his former spin-off show Extra Camp co-hosts, Scarlett, Adam, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! 2008 winner, EastEnders alum Joe Swash, 44, and 2018 series runner-up, 36-year-old Rivals star Emily Atack.
The Masked Singer presenter included a snap of him, Sam Thompson, 33, and Kemi, 31, on I'm A Celebrity...Unpacked.
Afterwards, Joel posted an image of him, Hannah, 37, and their two-year-old son, Wilde, on the ITV show's set, with the caption: "But this year I'm gonna stay at home with these dudes. (sic)"
The following slide was of the Celebrity Sabotage alum standing next to Hannah beside a swimming pool as she displayed her bump from when she carried their son, Dutch, whose birth was announced in May.
Joel added: "And the extra one that kinda came with us too. (sic)"
The National Television Awards host admitted he cannot believe how much his life has changed since his time in the jungle in 2016.
Joel concluded the photo carousel by sharing a photo of Wilde watching him fronting I'm A Celebrity...Unpacked, and a shot of the spin-off show's logo, with the caption: "I’ve bloomin loved it. G’DAYYYY MATE (sic)."
His former co-hosts reacted in the post's comments section.
Sam penned: "Never has there been a better man to learn from. I feel incredibly honoured to have been able to share a tiny bit of that period with you."
Kemi typed: "Oh Joel it has been the honour of my life sharing that treehouse with you, you are an absolute legend, the best to ever do it!!
"Thank you for letting me join the Cooper-Dommett family off screen as well; pool time won’t be the same without you guys xx (sic)."
Scarlett wrote: "Best of the best Joel, you make presenting look easy. So grateful to have been in there with you and then again for extra camp. Keep smashing life as a daddy, husband, presenter and comedian xxx (sic)."
Adam added: "Well done my brother !!!! What a journey x (sic)."
And Emily said: "I genuinely don’t know how you got up that early for that long (sic)."
