Joel Dommett repeatedly chucked his soaked socks into the campfire when he did I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016.

As the 40-year-old comedian and his campmates struggled to get their distinctive red garments dry in the "moist" jungle, burning the socks forced the bosses of the ITV show to give them a fresh pair.

Joel - who finished as runner-up - admitted on Monday (24.11.25) night's episode of I'm A Celebrity...Unpacked!: "It’s so moist down there, nothing really dries. It’s really hard to dry stuff. You can’t dry your socks when you get them wet, they just don’t dry.

"And so – don’t tell anyone this – but every now and again, we just used to throw our socks on the fire, and then they would just burn, and we’d be like, ‘Oh no, I’ve just burnt my socks! Can I have a new pair?’

"They don’t want to leave you with no socks, so they just give you new socks. I don’t think that’s allowed."

Joel's revelation prompted Jill Scott, 38, to remember the time when her clothes almost smelt of her 2022 series campmate, 64-year-old singer Boy George's body.

The former professional footballer - who won I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2022, appeared on Monday's episode of the ITV2 spin-off show as a panellist - explained: "I remember being in the water washing, and Boy George asking for my soap, and I gave him a bit, and he washed every bit of his body, and then went to give us it back, and I was like, ‘You can keep that.’"

Jill's series co-star, 39-year-old comedian Seann Walsh - who was also a guest on I'm A Celebrity...Unpacked! during Monday's episode - quipped: "I kept it as a souvenir."

Wet clothes were the topic of conversation as a storm battered the camp on November 24.

It forced all 12 campmates - including TV personality Jack Osbourne, 40, Heart Radio broadcaster Kelly Brook, 46, former EastEnders star Shona McGarty, 34, and 24-year-old Twitch streamer Angryginge - to be temporarily evacuated.

The wild weather conditions - including 50 mm rain and hailstones - pounded the camp, located in Dungay, New South Wales, Australia.

And it forced filming for the show to be delayed by three hours.

The brutal weather can lead to blood-sucking leeches infesting the camp - which caused 63-year-old Loose Women star Jane Moore's bra to be soaked in blood after the little beasts latched on to her during one night in camp in 2024.
