The Body Coach Joe Wicks has pleaded with British Airways to stream England's World Cup semi-final clash against Argentina on Wednesday night (15.07.26), but he was left disappointed by the major airline's response.
Joe Wicks has pleaded with British Airways to stream England's World Cup semi-final clash against Argentina on Wednesday night (15.07.26).
The 40-year-old fitness guru - who is known as The Body Coach - is desperate to tune in to see if the Three Lions can progress to Sunday's (19.07.26) World Cup final by overcoming Argentina, but he might be disappointed.
He wrote on X: "Hey @British_Airways will I be able to watch the @England match on my flight tomorrow?"
However, Joe was dealt a crushing blow by British Airways' response.
The airline replied: "Hi Joe, for legal reasons we're unable to stream live sporting events, unfortunately."
But British Airways hinted that his flight's crew might be able to keep him updated on the score.
They added: "However, I'm sure the crew will keep you informed of the score throughout your flight."
However, Joe was less than impressed with the response, simply replying with three weary face emojis.
British Airways then posted: "We're sure the crew will be just as eager to keep an eye on events. Have a safe flight."
However, one X user came up with a possible solution for Joe.
They wrote: "As a last resort, you potentially should be able to pay for the on board WiFi during the flight and stream it on iPlayer."
Joe replied with three prayer emojis.
The star became known as "the nation's favourite PE teacher" during the coronavirus pandemic, after he launched a PE with Joe segment on his YouTube channel.
It saw him lead Britain on a 30-minute exercise session from Monday to Friday at 9am.
Afterwards, Joe got a taste of being an England player when he was inducted into England's Lionhearts squad - a special group of 23 unsung heroes and community champions recognised for making a profound difference during the COVID-19 pandemic - by former Three Lions captain Wayne Rooney.
The honour came a week after Wicks was part of Rooney's England squad at Soccer Aid 2020.
He said at the time: "I was already excited to be around Soccer Aid, playing alongside some absolute legends, so to receive this award off Wayne Rooney after training was incredible."
