Hollyoaks' James Sutton wants to work with co-star Sarah Jayne Dunn again
Former Hollyoaks stars James Sutton and Sarah Jayne Dunn have reunited for OFTV's Race of Wits.
Hollyoaks alum James Sutton wants to work with his former co-star Sarah Jayne Dunn again after they reunited for an OnlyFans competition show.
The pair had not properly seen each other since the 44-year-old actress was axed from the Channel 4 soap in November 2021 after refusing to delete her OnlyFans account, but James, 43, quickly rekindled their chemistry when they got back together for an episode of OFTV's Race of Wits.
Hosted by British internet personality Emily Black, the eight-episode series sees teams of two OnlyFans creators take on three fast-paced, London-based challenges in a bid to win a cash prize and claim the bragging rights over outwitting the competition.
From taking on missions at iconic London locations to solving a series of clues in the Puzzle Room, each episode puts the contestants’ speed, creativity and problem-solving skills to the test.
James was full of praise for Sarah, who played Mandy Richardson in Hollyoaks, and admitted he would love to team up with her again for another show.
The actor, who played John Paul McQueen in the soap on-and-off from 2006 until 2026, exclusively told BANG Showbiz at a screening of OFTV's Race of Wits at Shoreditch Arts Club on August 19: "I hadn't worked with her for five or six years. I think we only ever did two scenes together on Hollyoaks. So it was so lovely.
"We've got a lovely bit of chemistry as well. I really want us to do some more stuff together in the future. I think we're a good little team."
James and Sarah's "amazing" reunion was particularly special given how former co-stars can quickly disappear from each other's lives once they have left a programme.
He said: "You work so closely with other actors when you're on set, and you're working with them, it's a really intimate experience. And then you just say goodbye, and you never see them again.
"It's such a strange thing. You're really, really close, and then you kind of disappear from each other's lives.
"So it was lovely."
Sarah was axed from Hollyoaks in November 2021 after refusing to delete her $19.99-a-month OnlyFans account, where she shares racy modelling shots to her paying subscribers, while insisting the content is not explicit and is similar to work she had previously done for men's magazines.
But James - who launched his $15.99 per month page on the online subscription site in April, where he shares fitness training, wellness and personal development content - has continued to back Sarah, praising her as a "really strong woman" and a role model for women.
He said: "She's built a real identity and an amazing brand kind of around herself. She's a really strong woman. She's a real role model, I think, for women. I think she's an incredible human being, I really do."
Meanwhile, James admitted he was completely in the dark while filming Race of Wits.
He explained: "All of the reactions in the show are exactly as filmed. We had no idea what was going on.
"I've always done scripted dramas, so everything that I've ever done has always been this is the script, this is the storyline, these are the characters.
"So to do something where you haven't got a f****** clue what's going on is so much fun."
James added: "I was really flattered to be asked to do Race of Wits and the team were amazing. And it's nice to show a different side of myself because a lot of the work that I do is really serious, and I'm very thoughtful about what I do.
"So just to switch that side of my brain off for a day and go, 'Right, we're just going to have some fun,’ was a really lovely thing to do."
