Dawn French wants people to call her a "proper t***" at her funeral.

The 68-year-old Vicar of Dibley star has thought about how she would live to be remembered when she dies, and the comedian has a couple of unique ideas for what mourners should say about her when the time comes.

She told Closer UK magazine: "That I am very good in bed. I am very good in bed, actually, I am an excellent sleeper.

"Or they can say I was a t***. I would own and live it if someone said I was a proper t***. I love the idea of owning that.

"Yes, let's have that."

Dawn admitted that when she passes away, she hopes in her final moments she sees "faces and memories" of her loved ones, rather than worrying about superficial things.

She added: "Apparently, your brain lives on for seven minutes after your body has died. In those minutes, I don't want to be thinking about the clothes I wore, the car I drove.

"I want faces and memories of all my beautiful beloveds, friends and family.

"I think you have to make your peace and savour and cherish those around you. You don't want regrets."

Dawn also reflected on her new novel Enough, which is a darkly funny and emotional story about Etta, 68, who tells her family she is planning to end her own life.

The story takes inspiration from the actress losing her own father after he took his own life when the writer was just 19.

And despite the book's subject, Dawn was keen to point out that despite starting to ponder what's "going to come", she doesn't feel anywhere near "the end of [her] life".

She explained: "The challenge I set was to talk about big, scary stuff but infuse it with someone king of hope...

"I am 68. I am not at the end of my life. I just think at this age you start to think about stuff that is going to come.

"It is important to write about things that you fear or are scared to admit."

Back in February, it was confirmed Dawn's BBC sitcom Can You Keep A Secret? has been commissioned for a second series.

Jon Petrie, the BBC Director of Comedy Commissioning, said: "The response to Can You Keep a Secret? has been fantastic. Dawn French and the whole creative team have crafted a warm, mischievous comedy that clearly struck a chord with audiences.

"We’re delighted to bring it back for a second series and can’t wait to see even more secrets unravel."

Simon Mayhew-Archer, the creator and writer of the show, is also thrilled to be reviving Can You Keep a Secret?.

He said: "Making this series was a joyous experience. Comedy is a team game, and Dawn, Mark, Craig, Mandip and the whole cast and crew are dream collaborators.

"I love sitcoms and I want more of them on TV, so I am enormously grateful to everyone who has watched this show and taken the Fendons to their hearts.

"I hope our success will help even more comedy get made across the UK. It’s one of our national superpowers - and we need it!"
