Pop star Lizzo loves different challenges, but why?
Music star Lizzo is preparing to release a children's book in September.
Lizzo is thrilled to be juggling so many different projects at one time.
The 38-year-old singer is currently promoting her new album, B****, while she's also preparing to release a children's book and star in a new film, and Lizzo is delighted to have so many irons in the fire.
The chart-topping star - who will embody the iconic Sister Rosetta Tharpe in the film Rosetta - told Sports Illustrated: "I’ve watered the seed, and the seed is out in the garden, and it’s just like, at this point, I’m not gonna sit around and wait for a flower to grow.
"I think the best thing about a garden is coming back and seeing how the flowers blossom. So I have a garden with all kinds of things growing ... I get to just sit back, water each one and allow them to blossom."
Lizzo is also the digital cover star of the new Sports Illustrated Issue, and she relished posing for the well-known magazine.
The Truth Hurts hitmaker - who has posed in various bikinis for the magazine - said: "When I was younger, I saw [SI Swimsuit] and never imagined somebody with my body type would be on the cover.
"It’s just incredible to see how we’ve redefined sexy, redefined confident, redefined what a swimsuit body is, since I was a kid.
"The whole runway show was so beautiful with all different kinds of bodies being celebrated [including] pregnant bodies. I thought it was just really, really cute and fabulous. So to be on the cover, I do feel like, wow."
Meanwhile, Lizzo previously explained that music has helped her to navigate depression.
The singer admitted that making music helped her to overcome some of the darkest and most depressing moments in her life.
Asked about her experience of dealing with depression, Lizzo told Rolling Stone: "My relationship with music was still very intense.
"I still am like, 'Music saved my life,' because there were really dark moments when I was working on Love in Real Life, my album, where I was like, 'Okay, I don’t think I can make it through the day, but I have to go to the studio.'"
