Peter Andre rejected this year's series of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa.

The 53-year-old singer feared people would moan about him doing the all-star edition of ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! after having lived in a critter-filled camp and faced gruesome challenges in the Australia-based show twice already.

However, he has not completely ruled out an appearance on I'm A Celebrity... South Africa.

Peter explained to the Daily Mail: "I have been asked about going on it, but the truth of the matter is, I've been on I'm A Celebrity... twice.

"A lot of people might not know this; I was in it in 2004, and then I went in it again when Mark Wright was in it and Fatima Whitbread.

"So I think people are probably going to go, 'Mate, how many times do you want to go in the jungle?' I've been twice. I think, for now, that's enough.

"But, I'll never say never."

Peter - who famously met his 47-year-old ex-wife, model Katie Price, on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004 - has tuned into this year's I'm A Celebrity...South Africa.

Reality TV icon Gemma Collins quit I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! after three days in 2014 because the experience was not for her, but she has decided to give it another shot.

Last week, 45-year-old Gemma burst into tears amid struggles to cope with the camp's basic living conditions.

And Peter - who finished third behind 75-year-old royal commentator Jennie Bond and winner, 45-year-old former Atomic Kitten member Kerry Katona in the 2004 series - sympathised with former The Only Way Is Essex cast member Gemma.

The Mysterious Girl hitmaker penned in his latest column for New! magazine: "Gemma Collins really is TV gold. She was recently seen breaking down in tears as she adjusted to life without home comforts in the I’m A Celeb jungle.

"Some people might think she’s just acting out, but she may just be genuine in the way that she's feeling. It is quite amazing when you’re actually in that situation, as to how you react to things."

Peter - who visited the 2011 camp as a guest - noted that the show is mentally challenging, especially with the lack of food.

He added: "There’s also been accusations of campmates stealing food because everyone is so hungry and, speaking from my experience, it is harder mentally than you can imagine. The starvation process is the thing that got to all of us.

"After three or four days, that’s when personalities start to come out. Most people on that show have never, ever known what it’s like to not have food at their disposal. It teaches you to appreciate the basic things in life."
