The Fate of Ophelia hitmaker made a surprise appearance during Monday's (14.09.26) broadcast when she featured in a pre-recorded skit that saw Emmys host Mariska Hargitay as her TV alter ego Olivia Benson leading her colleagues in an investigation as to whether the 36-year-old megastar would be making an appearance during the event.
And Kelli Giddish, who appeared as her Law and Order character Amanda Rollins, has now told the Women in Entertainment podcast: “She brought me some really, really, really good cookies.
“And I’m kind of a cookie snob, so I was really pleased.
“They were sourdough brown butter chocolate chip.”
The 46-year-old actress said filming the sketch with Taylor was "so fun" and revealed she was the one who came up with the idea that one of Taylor's three cats, who is named after Mariska's character, should appear too.
She said: “We were so happy to host her.
"Mariska told me about it, and I was like, ‘Can she be holding her cat? That’s my only request.’
“And then she actually brought her cat. It was great. It was like the President of the United States was visiting... Security was crazy.
"And the thing is, she comes in, and she’s totally just sweet, down to earth, like a beautiful, beautiful spirit.”
In the sketch, Mariska, as Olivia, urged her colleagues to "think like Swifties" in order to answer the night's biggest question: "Will Taylor Swift be at the Emmys?"
As they brought out a "crime board", the skit played on Taylor's love of Easter eggs, with the investigators drawing links such as the singer's lucky number 13 tracing to DTF St. Louis because it had 13 nominations, linking to St. Louis, Missouri, which connected to Kansas City, Missouri, where the Love Story hitmaker's Travis Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
As they mused on the subject, Taylor herself, in a grey suit, walked into the room and said: “Hey guys, this isn’t adding up."
Ice-T asked: “And who asked you, rookie? Our perp has a clear M.O."
Taylor said: "A lot of this doesn’t fit the pattern, and I don’t think everything is a clue.”
Mariska said: “It is to the Swifties.”
Taylor then uttered a string of words which may or may not be real clues as to her own plans.
She said: "Saccharide, Aries, from the vineyard, north or south.”
She then mused that the real Taylor Swift would be most likely to be at home with her three cats.
As Taylor held the cat in question, Mariska said: "Wait, I’m Olivia Benson."
The Fate of Ophelia singer had insisted she wouldn't perform at the ceremony.
But she said: “Maybe she’ll do one of those cool pre-taped sketch things to support the host."
The skit ended with the Law and Order bumper music and Taylor and Mariska observing how "cool" it was to hear the iconic theme.
However, the real Taylor was not at home to see the Emmys as she was pictured at Travis' first game of the season, cheering on Kansas City Chiefs against the Denver Broncos while seated alongside Tom Cruise.
