Tasha Ghouri thinks that Pilgrimage provided a welcome change from reality TV.

The 27-year-old star – who found fame as a contestant on Love Island in 2022 – is part of the line-up for the latest series of the BBC show and was glad to be authentic on the programme, which sees seven famous faces following a route to Lindisfarne in the north east of England.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz and assembled media at a screening of the programme, Tasha said: "I think it's a completely different format of show. It's not reality TV.

"And that's what I loved about it, was actually it's not about reality TV. This is just being you.

"I think in a way, I appreciated it more because, you know, it's an intimate team. It's a smaller crew.

"It's not about the drama and things like that. It's about being real and just having those conversations."

Tasha revealed that she was particularly grateful for the advice given by fellow pilgrims Patsy Kensit and Hermione Norris.

The Strictly Come Dancing 2024 contestant – who is also joined on Pilgrimage by Diversity star Ashley Banjo, comedians Ashley Blaker and Hasan Al-Habib, as well as TV and radio presenter Jayne Middlemiss – said: "Yeah, we had those conversations. They were great.

"They gave great advice, you know, they've been in the industry for years, especially back then it was a very different time, you know, the media was harsher. It was a very different world.

"So what was great, they were like the mum figures, the big sister figures, and they just gave great advice. I can take away things from that."

Ghouri also revealed that she has started walking more as a result of her experience on the programme.

Asked if she had learned any lessons from Pilgrimage, she said: "Go on walks. I've been walking more.

"Yeah, my walking boots have really, really gone through it recently. I think what was great coming back, I actually enjoy getting out more, being more in nature because I've got my dog Luna."

The first episode of Pilgrimage: The Road to Holy Island airs on Easter Sunday (05.04.26) at 9pm on BBC Two.
