Tess Daly has TV shows "in the pipeline" following her departure from Strictly Come Dancing.

The 56-year-old star left her role as host of the BBC Latin and Ballroom competition after 21 years last month but intends to make a quick return to the screen.

In an interview with HELLO! magazine, Tess said: "I'm looking forward to doing other TV projects and there are a couple in the pipeline.

"I love working in television because I genuinely love people. As a viewer, I love anything authentically emotive that brings a tear to the eye."

Away from TV, Tess has revealed that she is planning to learn how to speak French fluently this year.

The presenter - who has daughters Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16, with her BBC Radio 2 DJ husband Vernon Kay - explained: "This year, I've vowed to become more fluent in French.

"I love the language and lived in France for a few years in my twenties. I really want to speak it fluently when I visit, since it's such a beautiful language."

Daly is busy with her TV work and running her NAIA fashion brand but also relishes getting the chance to relax and spend time with her friends.

She said: "Me-time is a good book and a cup of tea curled up on the sofa, or catching up with girlfriends over cocktails. My friends boost my confidence. They are my support network."

Tess continued: "As women, we can get too hung up on external factors. We can judge ourselves too much. We can be our own harshest critics.

"Let's celebrate the positives. Every woman I know is showing up in all areas of her life, trying to nurture everyone in her life, and giving it her best shot."

Tess was awarded an MBE for services to broadcasting in King Charles' 2025 Birthday Honours and admits that it was a "surreal moment" to be presented with the medal by the monarch at Windsor Castle in November.

She recalled: "The most surreal moment was when His Majesty pinned the medal to my chest.

"I was trying to take it all in and be in the moment, but my heart was racing with nerves and adrenaline. The day was made all the more emotional since I got to share it with Vernon and our daughters."
