Major health update on EastEnders worker after 11-storey fall left him in coma
On Tuesday (06.01.26), EastEnders star Jake Wood urged fans to donate to soap's electrician Connor's GoFundMe page to cover his medical bills and to get him home after the set worker plunged from an 11-storey building in Colombia over Christmas.
The EastEnders electrician who plunged from an 11-storey building and spent nine days in a coma is now "in good spirits" and "overwhelmed" with the GoFundMe donations.
On Tuesday (06.01.26), soap star Jake Wood, 53, urged fans to donate to Connor's GoFundMe page to hit the £26,000 target so the set worker can cover his medical bills and get home following the horror incident in Colombia over Christmas, which also caused Connor to have multiple life-saving surgeries.
The crowdfunding campaign has now raised over £30,000, with EastEnders cast members among the hundreds of people who have donated, and Connor - who is now out of ICU, and his mum Denise remains by his side - is "overwhelmed" by the love and support.
Page organiser Victoria Dean gave a second update on Wednesday (07.01.26) on Connor's GoFundMe page, and wrote: "He has now been weaned from the sedation and oxygen and is out of ICU. He has been sitting up in bed and is able to eat soft foods.
"Denise is still with him in Colombia, and he is aware of the GoFundMe and is overwhelmed by everyone’s love and support. He is alert and in good spirits, which is remarkable considering his injuries."
Victoria pointed out that Connor - whose mum said it was a "miracle" he survived after he fell 11 floors off a roof - is set to have more surgeries.
She continued: "He is still waiting on the surgeries that he needs for his fractures. We are liaising with the hospital to try and get him the care that he needs to be able to fly home, but for the time being, he remains in hospital in Colombia.
"Thank you all so much for your support and well wishes during this immensely difficult and stressful time.
"Love Denise and family xxx (sic)."
According to the donations section on Connor's GoFundMe page, Scott Maslen (Jack Branning) donated £300, while Jake (Max Branning) and Jacqueline Jossa (Lauren Branning) gave £200.
Jessie Wallace (Kat Slater), Gillian Wright (Jean Slater), Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale), Colin Salmon (George Knight), Gillian Taylforth (Kathy Beale), Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell), Harriet Thorpe (Elaine Peacock), Pierre Moullier (Oscar Branning), and Francesca Henry (Gina Knight) all gave £100.
Clair Norris (Bernadette Taylor) donated £50, and Jaden Ladega (Denzel Danes) gave £5.
According to the description on Connor's GoFundMe page, the family does not know if he will receive an insurance payout or how long that process will take.
Jake shared Connor's GoFundMe crowdfunding page to Instagram Stories on Tuesday (06.01.26), and penned: "Connor, one of our work colleagues who works as an electrician on the set, has had a terrible accident over Christmas in Colombia, falling 11 floors from a roof and was in a coma for nine days.
"It's a miracle that he has survived. He has a family and his mum has flown out to be with him. (sic)"
Jake continued: "Here is the link to a GoFundMe page that has been set up in his name as money is desperately needed to pay for medical bills and to hopefully get him home.
"He is a top man and respected by everyone here who works at the studios. Please help if you can thank you. (sic)"
Victoria gave an update on January 2, sharing that Denise is by his side.
It read: "After 9 days in a coma, he is now off of mechanical ventilation and breathing with minimal support.
"He remains in ICU and is still under light sedation, but is aware that Denise is there and is responding to her. He was due to have another surgery today, but this has been delayed, and we are hoping to get a date for next week.
"Thank you so much for all of your support, it really means the world to all of us. Love from Denise and family Xxxx (sic)."
