Ollie Locke doesn’t believe perfect Christmases exist.

The Made in Chelsea star – who has two-year-old twins Apollo and Cosima with his husband Gareth Locke - insisted the way the festive season is typically depicted on screen is far removed from people’s real experiences.

He told BANG Showbiz: “I don’t think anyone has ever had a perfect Christmas in their life, this isn’t Hollywood, the movies always show that fabulous wonderful time and this is not like that at all, that’s not life, there is always going to be arguments and troubles.”

Ollie tries to set small targets for his 25 December celebrations.

He said: “I now go on a thing where I want to do four or five things that day, I try to tick them off.

“I want to make sure we have Buck’s Fizz in the morning, I want to make sure we can play a game or watch a movie, do those bits and pieces, that kind of stuff, tick those things off.”

While many people treasure the quiet few days between Christmas and New Year, Ollie finds it a “really boring” time.

He said: “I think the most boring part of the day for me is from the 27th – New Year’s Day. I find that really boring, the walks, sitting by the fire, drinking, family time, sitting with friends, having a lovely time before you go off and go back to your busy business.”

Despite his lavish lifestyle, the 38-year-old star has a secret love of bargain hunting from budget high-street stores.

He said: "I will tell you what I do, I go to Home Bargains and buy all the stuff I need for the month. I love it - it’s great to fill the whole car up.

"Quite seriously, if you want stocking fillers, Home Bargains, B+M - all that stuff.

"I’ve always loved the finer things in life, but who doesn’t love a great deal?

"We all love a bargain; I think that’s half the situation - we all just love trying to get a good deal on something. We all work hard for what we do, and we all want to make sure it goes as far as it possibly can."
