Sir David Jason is returning for a special Only Fools And Horses docu-series.

The 85-year-old actor - who played Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter in the iconic BBC sitcom - will feature in a new two-part programme for U+Gold in 2026.

He said in a statement: "The love for Only Fools has never faded. It’s incredible to see how many people still hold it close to their hearts.

"Revisiting these rediscovered moments reminded me just how special the show was - and still is. It’s incredible to be able to share them now."

Only Fools and Horses: The Lost Archive will treat fans to never-before-seen footage from over 10 classic episodes like Mother Nature's Son and The Jolly Boys' Outing, plus new material from the likes of Time On Our Hands.

Fans will also be treated to an unseen opening scene from Class of '62 which was thought to be lost forever, showing Del Boy and Rodney (Nichols Lyndhurst) in a nightclub.

Other footage will include Bee Gees legend Barry Gibb having to make repeated retakes, which cost the production hours as Sir David and Nicholas had to go up and down the river to get the right shot.

There will also be newly recorded interviews with Sir David, and other members of the cast and crew.

Tessa Peake-Jones (Raquel), Gwyneth Strong (Cassandra), Steve Woodcock (Jevon), Sue Holderness (Marlene Boyce) and Denis Lill (Alan Parry) have all taken part.

Elsewhere, the series will feature interviews with director Tony Dow, editor Chris Wadsworth, plus Lovely Jubbly co-author Mike Jones and Perry Aghajanoff, the chairman of the Only Fools and Horses Appreciation Society.

Helen Nightingale - UKTV’s Head of Factual and Factual Entertainment, Commissioning - added: "Only Fools and Horses is part of the national DNA.

"With its humour, heart and unforgettable characters, it’s British comedy at its very best.

"This series is a celebration of its legacy and a chance to share new discoveries with the fans who’ve loved it for decades."
