Taylor Swift has heaped huge praise on Phoebe Bridgers' new album, insisting it is an "absolute triumph in every way".

The 36-year-old pop megastar took to social media to reveal she hasn't been able to "stop listening" to Bridgers' third studio album Lost Weekend since the record's release last week.

Speaking about Phoebe turning 32 on Monday (17.08.26), Taylor wrote on her Instagram Stories: "It’s her birthday but she gave us a gift.

"Haven’t been able to stop listening. This album is an absolute triumph in every way."

Taylor also praised Phoebe's ability to pen songs about grief.

She added: "To write about grief with such vulnerability and detail, and to trust the listener with this much honesty. Happy bday @phoebebridgers I love you!! (sic)"

Earlier this month, Phoebe - whose previously solo album was 2020's Punisher - told how her new record took "forever" to make.

Speaking to fans during a question-and-answer session, she said about her years-long hiatus: "I mean, I didn’t love all parts of being away."

Phoebe explained that her creative urges would come and go in spurts.

As a result, the singer has taken "forever" to create her latest album.

She said: "I kept booking studio time and then putting it off ... and booking studio time and putting it off, and putting it off ... I really wanted to be making something.

"So I just started going in and then taking six months off and then going (back). So this album took forever. Which is great!"
