Martin Kemp has been taking advice from his son ahead of his appearance on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.

The 64-year-old star has landed in Australia ahead of his stint on the ITV show, and Martin has revealed that he's been taking advice from Roman Kemp, his 32-year-old son, who finished in third place in the 19th series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2019.

After arriving in Australia, Martin told The Sun newspaper: "It was nice to sit down for 23 hours.

"I’m not sure where I’m going at the moment.

"What am I gonna miss? My family. But it’s an adventure."

Martin revealed that Roman had given him some advice before he left the UK.

The former EastEnders star shared: "He said don’t take it seriously, just enjoy it. Which I think is the best advice you can get."

Martin previously announced that he was joining I'm a Celebrity via a social media post.

He wrote on Instagram: "I’m heading into the jungle.

"People keep asking if I’m scared of snakes or spiders… The truth is, I’m more scared of Roman’s face if I don’t make it as far as he did."

Roman then poked fun at his dad in a cheeky reply.

The TV star quipped: "Absolute nepo-daddy. Only on there cos his sons on The One Show. (sic)"

Meanwhile, Martin recently confessed that he doesn't know how he'll fare in the jungle.

The actor insisted that he doesn't have any specific phobias, but he's still feeling a little anxious ahead of the new series of the long-running TV show.

Martin explained: "Phobias? I always thought I don’t have phobias but when I think about it, there are certain things that make me feel sick.

"I am the spider catcher in our house. [Wife] Shirlie won’t go anywhere near them and so I am left to do the business. But I will still get a glass or piece of paper to do it.

"And if anyone says they are ok with heights, they aren’t telling the truth!"
