A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton insists show is 'not a holiday'
A Place in the Sun host Laura Hamilton says the Channel 4 international house-hunting show is "not a holiday" because of how "full on and busy" the week-long filming schedule is.

Laura Hamilton insists people do not do A Place in the Sun just to get a free holiday abroad.
The 43-year-old star has presented the Channel 4 reality show - which sees British couples decide to move overseas - since 2011, and Laura says there is hardly any time for her and the house-hunters to chill out and relax due to the "full on and busy" filming schedule, which lasts for a "week".
She told the new issue of Woman magazine: "No! It's a week's work, it's full on and busy.
"When someone comes on, they have no idea how TV works, they don't know where they're going, we keep everything a surprise. It's a big decision. It's not a holiday."
A Place in the Sun - which began in 2000 and is also hosted by the likes of Jasmine Harman, 49, Ben Hillman, 47, and 53 year old Craig Rowe - does offer some downtime for Laura and the house-hunters.
She said: "There is some downtime, yeah. I make the most of it, exploring - why wouldn't you?
"People think it's a holiday, but it isn't - I'm working, just in the sunshine.
"Sometimes it does rain, believe it or not!
"My children get to travel with me and long may it continue - here's to the next 25 years."
Elsewhere in her magazine interview, Laura - who has Rocco, 11, and Tahlia, 10, with her ex-husband Alex Goward - insists she does not get offended if the house-hunters choose not to purchase a property.
She said: "If some people decide not to buy, I never get offended as it's such a personal thing.
"These are big decisions."
Despite not being offended, Laura does sometimes get frustrated when the couples are not interested in buying a stunning home that she has shown to them.
Laura said: "I have shown people houses and thought, 'You're not going to buy this? You're crazy!'
"But you have to respect people's choices."
