Joanna Page "cried constantly" during the making of the Gavin and Stacey finale.

The 48-year-old star played Stacey Shipman in the popular BBC sitcom and confessed that she was an emotional wreck during production on the last episode – which aired last Christmas – as she realised she would be leaving the show behind for good.

Speaking to Woman's Weekly magazine, Joanna said: "I cried constantly.

"Every time we filmed somewhere different I ended up bawling my eyes out, thinking, 'I'm never going to be here again.'"

Page has released her new memoir Lush! and is particularly excited about meeting readers on her first book tour.

The Love Actually star explained: "It's going to be really good fun meeting people, chatting to everybody and doing book festivals, which I've never done before.

"After spending a year writing it, it will feel weird meeting people who've read it, because it's just been in my own little world for such a long time.

"Suddenly meeting people and they've read it, it's going to be like, 'Oh my gosh, this little thing which was mine is suddenly out there for everyone to read.' But I'm really looking forward to chatting to people about that and my life."

Joanna – who has children Eva, 12, Kit, 10, Noah, eight, and Boe, three, with her husband James Thornton – is now determined to write more books as she enjoyed penning the autobiography so much.

She said: "I think I've got another book in me, all about being an actor and a mother, and trying to work and combine having four children with going away and acting and presenting and stuff. Maybe with different tips I've got all about it and my experiences."

Page added: "I'm also keen to write my first book of fiction too. I think I underestimated, going into the autobiography, how much I'd enjoy writing, so I'd like to write both children's and adults' fiction."

Joanna is also happy to put her acting career on hold as she looks after her children and plans a move to the countryside.

She said: "I think at this age now, with four children, I don't really want to be going away for weeks and months on end, acting and being away from the family.

"Over the next few years, I think I would like to move to the countryside. At the moment we've got two dogs and four guinea pigs, but I would like to get more animals.

"I'd like to get a cat, probably another dog and just be out in the countryside with the kids."
