Gavin and Stacey's Joanna Page is reportedly in "advanced stages of talks" for the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!.

Conversations between ITV and the 49-year-old actress - who played Stacey Shipman in the BBC sitcom - about starring in the network's Australia-based jungle survival show are believed to be going well.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "Joanna is in the advanced stages of talks for I’m a Celebrity, and all the signs are looking positive.

"She’s a huge BBC star, and it would be a coup if ITV can get her to sign her contract and put her front and centre on their biggest entertainment show.

"Joanna is hugely popular thanks to her role on Gavin and Stacey. I’m a Celeb bosses would love to get her in the jungle so the public can get to know the real Joanna."

The insider added that Joanna - who has daughters Eva, 13, and Boe, four, as well as sons Kit, 10, and Noah, nine with her 50-year-old husband, actor James Thornton - really wants to experience living in the show's critter-filled camp, and its gruesome Bushtucker Trials.

They added: "She has confided in friends that she’s really keen to take part and wants to go on and make her children proud."

It comes as Olympic ice dancer Sir Christopher Dean, 67, is being tipped to do I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! this year after he and his ex-skating partner Dame Jayne Torvill, 68, bowed out as head judges and choreographers on ITV's Dancing on Ice, which was axed in March 2025.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Christopher is part of the ITV family thanks to his time on Dancing On Ice, but he’s always been adamant the jungle isn’t for him.

"When bosses came knocking this year, he saw it in a different light. He’s recently retired and is looking for a new challenge. I’m A Celebrity is certainly that, so he has met with producers a few times already to talk through being a campmate for this year’s standard Australian series.

"Everyone at ITV has their fingers crossed that they will secure him."

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! set to return later this year, but its spin-off, I'm A Celebrity...South Africa, is unlikely to return to TV for another three years.

It comes after winner, Waterloo Road alum Adam Thomas, 37, and ex-footballer Jimmy Bullard, 47, had an almighty bust-up on the show, after the latter accused the actor of being "abusive, aggressive and intimidating" after flying into a rage when the former Wigan Athletic midfielder quit a trial.

However, another iteration of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, titled I'm A Celebrity: The Wild Frontier, is set to be coming next year, and it will see stars paired together to tackle trials and survive in Canada's wilderness.

And it has been reported that Boyzlife pop stars Keith Duffy, 51, and Brian McFadden, 46, have signed up.

A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Bosses are delighted that Keith and Brian will be taking part, they’ll each bring a lot of fun and mischief to the camp.

"Everyone’s really excited about this new format, the pairs element will get everyone talking.

"The casting team are hopeful they can cast celebrity duos, but may also include some stars and their non-famous family members or partners.

"Viewers will see the pairings undertake gruelling trials in the beautiful and unknown Canadian landscape and take on action-packed challenges to win food, all aiming to become the sole victorious pair."
