Gerard Butler is "laughing" about pal Ross King doing Strictly Come Dancing.

The 63-year-old TV presenter - best known for being ITV's Lorraine and Good Morning Britain's Los Angeles Correspondent - will be whisked around the ballroom floor by his 31-year-old professional dance partner Jowita Przystal, and the thought of Ross showing off his dance moves is something actor Gerard, 55, finds hilarious.

Ross told the new issue of Bella magazine: "I asked Gerry how he felt about me doing the show, and he wishes me all the best, but he's still laughing about it.

"That's good pals for you, isn't it?"

Ross is also good friends with Take That pop group member Gary Barlow, 54, and the star joked that the Shine hitmaker could be in Strictly Come Dancing's live studio audience one week.

He said: "I've known Gary Barlow since before Take That had any hits!

"It's lucky to have friendships that go back that long, when you have history together."

Ross then quipped: "I've been winding Gary up by saying to him, 'From a dancing point of view, I do feel like I need you in the training room!'

"But he threatened to come along at some point, so that'll be funny."

During the Strictly Come Dancing launch show - which aired on September 20 - viewers found out that Ross' professional dance partner is Jowita - who won the show in 2022 with 35-year-old wildlife presenter Hamza Yassin.

And Ross gushed over her when the pair appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Monday (22.09.25) morning.

Speaking about Jowita, Ross told 65-year-old host Lorraine Kelly: "She was the first professional [I met].

"She came up and she gave me a big hug, she was so lovely.

"And she also made sure that we did the last dance, you know, when you do the speed dancing thing, and that was it.

"Can I also just say, you knew my dad, and dad would always say, 'You can judge a person by how they treat the waiter'.

"And this young lady is just an absolute joy. The crews love her, everyone loves her because she is just beautiful inside and out.

"She's just that lovely person, and so my dad would be like, 'How lovely.'"

Ross and Jowita are practicing their Cha Cha Cha to Katy Perry's California Girls - a nod to the US state where Ross has lived for years - ahead of the first Strictly Come Dancing live show on Saturday (27.09.25) night.

Speaking about rehearsal, Ross said: "We do still have a week. I think I'm right in saying that the Cha Cha is the hardest."

Jowita added: "We had already that moment when the day came and nothing was working, and we passed that moment, and now each day is just getting better and better.

"And for me, seeing Ross when we dance, even our last rehearsals we did, and you got something right, the happiness and the joy... I'm like a cheerleader, it's amazing."

She continued: "Celebrities come from all different backgrounds and have different abilities, and that's OK.

"But the beauty of that show is to take someone who has no idea and no clue how to dance and then to go out and perform.

"It's actually quite overwhelming as well, but beautiful."

And Ross thinks he and Jowita will not lift Strictly Come Dancing's coveted Glitterball Trophy on December 20.

He admitted: "We're in this not to win it, because obviously I'm never gonna win it."

Jowita interjected: "Don't say that."
