Alia Bhatt struggled to deliver her lines in English for 'Heart of Stone'.

The 30-year-old Bollywood actress - who is set to make her Hollywood debut with the Netflix film - admitted she found it difficult at first to say her lines in English, even though she is fluent.

She told The Toronto Sun: "I have to say on day one, because I'm so used to speaking in Hindi, suddenly on day one speaking in English was weird. Even though I speak in English most of the time, acting in English suddenly felt a bit strange."

Alia - who was pregnant during the shoot - portrays Keya Dhawan, the antagonist, in the movie, alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.

While fans recently expressed surprise at how little she features in the movie's trailer, Alia isn't concerned because it's just a snapshot of the film.

She told Mid-Day.com about the speculation: "I am not too worried about that because I feel, at the end of the day, you have to get a sense of what the story is all about, and when the story leads you to the final film, and it’s the final film that matters."

Despite her own lack of presence in the trailer, Alia urged people to watch it ahead of the movie's release in August.

She said: “I have seen the trailer and the film as well. I love it. It’s exactly the way I imagined it, in fact, better.

"Our director Tom Harper has done a fabulous job. I don’t want to say too much about my own film, but I want people to see the trailer and talk about it.”

Alia admitted working on the movie was "very special" and she's excited to be making the move to Hollywood.

She said: “It was a very special film in the first place for me to be a part of. I shot it at a very exciting time when I was feeling like it was a nice time to break into another language, into Hollywood, as you call it.

"But I was having a lot of fun and met some amazing people while I was doing that."
