Rachel Bilson was fired from a job after admitting that she likes to be "f****** manhandled" in the bedroom on her sex podcast.

The 41-year-old actress - who has eight-year-old Briar with ex-partner Hayden Christensen - was shocked that sharing spicy details about how she likes to be dominated would lead her to be dropped from an unnamed work project.

Speaking on her 'Broad Ideas' podcast, she said: "This is the first time it's ever happened to me in my professional life that I lost a job this week because of things that were said. A job got taken away from me because I was speaking candidly and openly about sex in a humorous way on our friend's podcast. I basically got a job, that I already had, pulled from me because I was speaking openly about sex. A single mom, a woman, lost a job because they were being candid and honest and the subject was sex."

Although she has no regrets about what she said, the former 'O.C.' star would have worded it differently if she knew was going to lose a salary.

She said: "First of all, I said it in a joking manner in the interview, like, 'Yeah, I wanna get f****** get manhandled.' Basically, it's like, okay give control or take control in the bedroom, whatever. I've been floored honestly. I haven't said anything inappropriate. Choice of language, if I could go back, now knowing I lost a job, maybe I would say it differently. But I still wouldn't not say it."

Rachel is an open book when it comes to talking about sex.

Recently, she insisted she wasn't "shaming any exes" when she confessed she didn't have an orgasm until she was 38.

Speaking on 'The Nick Viall Files' podcast, she explained: "It has nothing to do with any partner. It had to do with me knowing my body."

Rachel went on to admit that she made the confession after comedian Whitney Cummings revealed she didn’t have an orgasm through penetrative sex until coming off birth control at the age of 40 - and Rachel said she experienced something similar.

She added: "I just jumped on that and I was like, ‘When I was older I was able to do that too' ... Apparently there were names brought up in both regards and I am not OK with that, because it had nothing to do with that.'"

Podcast host Viall then added: "We’re not shaming any exes," and Rachel agreed saying: "No! Or giving a trophy to any other exes. Nobody was involved other than myself. It was all about me. I can now do it, I'm sure ... It's all about knowing my own body ... It's positioning it's comfortability. It's knowing your body."

Rachel has previously dated stars including Adam Brody and Bill Hader
