Connor Storrie doesn't view posing on the red carpet as an "extension of acting".

The Heated Rivalry actor has always been fascinated by fashion so he enjoys attening events such as Monday (04.05.26) night's Met Gala - for which he wore Saint Laurent - and while he thinks there is an element of performance involved in being photographed, he sees it differently from his career.

Asked if being on the red carpet feels like an extension of acting, he told America's GQ magazine ahead of the Met Gala: "That’s really interesting. I think being on the red carpet doesn’t feel like an extension of acting. I’ll be honest, I’m a very visual person before acting really took off.

"I’ve had a million passions, one of them being clown, but also one of them being photography.

"I’ve always just loved the aesthetics of fashion photography and editorial. So I really enjoyed that element. And so it feels like an extension of photography. It feels like live photography.

"I think there is an element of acting. You do feel different in different clothes. Tonight, I’m going to be feeling super sleek. I’m going to be feeling really strong and powerful. And sometimes you want to feel rich and relaxed.

"I think it taps into my visual sensibility of liking photography and fashion.

"James, my stylist, is really great because he’s cut from the same cloth of seeing things as a full picture and adapting these characters or these versions of myself and being like, 'Okay, what does this make us feel? What’s the situation this is for?' "

Connor believes what he wears has an impact in how he carries himself at an event, which helps to show off the clothes at their best.

He explained: "I think a lot of it is dependent on how it physically fits too.

"If you have a lot of freedom, you can do whatever you want, but especially some of these hyper-tailored [looks, like] what I wore at the Actor Awards, that hyper-tailored, structured suit, it’s not like I can just put my hands in my pocket or move around. It forces you to hold yourself in a specific way.

"So to be honest, I feel like it happens pretty organically.

"But yeah, we’re definitely aware of, 'Oh, this really shows off this pant if you put a hand in the pocket or lean on this hip.' "
