Reba McEntire's son Shelby Blackstock has become a dad for the first time.

The 36-year-old former NASCAR driver and his 33-year-old wife, Marissa, took to their respective Instagram Stories on Wednesday (21.10.26) to announce that they have welcomed a baby boy named Shelby Archer McEntire Blackstock.

He wrote over a blurred shot of himself, Marissa and their newborn: "After everything it took to get here, we finally get to call ourselves mom and dad.

"We’ve been taking these first few weeks just for us and there’s nowhere else we’d rather be."

In another slide, Shelby could be seen proudly holding his son against his chest, and he penned his bundle of joy's name, Shelby Archer McEntire Blackstock, over the photo.

It was followed by a cute video of the little one resting, and Shelby wrote alongside it: "He had a rough first week, but at least he had the look down."

Marissa took to her Instagram Stories to announce she and Shelby had become parents.

She posted a sweet picture of herself appearing to breastfeed their child, with the caption: "Meet Shelby Archer McEntire Blackstock."

Marissa added that his nickname is "Archie".

In April, the couple shared they were expecting their first child with a joyous announcement outside Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

In a series of adorable shots posted to Instagram, the couple posed outside the theme park icon holding up a white onesie featuring an embroidered sleeping Mickey Mouse and "Blackstock October 2026" in blue lettering, embraced each other, and shared images from a sonogram.

The pair captioned the sweet joint post: "Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October," the couple wrote in the post. "See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you! (sic)"

Fans showered Shelby and Marissa with congratulatory messages in the upload's comments section.

One follower penned: "OMG!! A baby boy!!! How exciting! Congratulations to you both! How stinking cute is this announcement!! (sic)"

A second supporter typed: "Woohoo!!! We are SOOOO happy for you guys!!! (sic)"

And a third fan wrote: "Congrats! Best news ever (sic)."

Shelby and Marissa's son is the first biological grandchild for singer-and-actress Reba, 71, whose late stepson, talent manager Brandon Blackstock and his 44-year-old ex-wife, singer Kelly Clarkson's children, River, 11, and son Remy, 10, regard her as a grandmother.

Brandon died in August 2025 at age of 48 after a battle with melanoma, a form of skin cancer.

Shelby and Marissa met on the dating app Tinder in 2014, and they started dating two years later.

In February 2022, they told People: "We made fast friends early on and have had a strong bond ever since. We are twin flames. There's this indescribable feeling of deja vu when we are together — as if life is reminding us that we're following our destiny.

"In retrospect, our mutual friends could see how compatible we are. They would always recommend that we should date; I think we were the only ones who didn't see it (at the time).

"The love was always there; we just didn't understand it until we were both in the right headspace and had the maturity to recognise it. We both agree that if we had dated immediately upon meeting, we likely would not be as prepared as we are now to deserve one another."

Shelby, whose dad is 70-year-old music manager Narvel Blackstock, popped the question at Epcot, the second theme park at Walt Disney World, on New Year's Eve in 2020, where they held a cocktail hour and dinner at Rotunda Bistro ahead of their fairytale wedding in February 2022.

The wedding then moved to Magic Kingdom, where Marissa walked down the aisle to the Beauty and the Beast theme tune in front of Cinderella Castle.
