Kubrick's 1980 film 'The Shining' - based on Stephen King's novel of the same name - is one of the most iconic horror movies of all time, with Jack Nicholson's performance as the deranged Jack Torrance particularly memorable.

Nicholson enjoyed collaborating with Kubrick and regrets that he was unable to do so again.

He said: "I always thought I’d work with Stanley again. We kept in touch over the years, and we talked about other projects. It’s a sad thing that I won’t have that great opportunity. Everybody pretty much acknowledges he’s the man. And I still feel that underrates him."
