Malcolm McDowell

Malcolm McDowell played evil Alex DeLarge - the delinquent leader of a gang of thugs - in Kubrick's 1971 film ‘A Clockwork Orange’.

One of the most infamous scenes features Alex with his eyes clamped open being forced to watch violent films in an attempt to tame his sadistic behaviour.

McDowell explained that Kubrick's controlling approach to the scene was "torture" and left him temporarily blinded with scratched corneas.
