Seattle's Duff McKagan delivered one of the most instantly recognisable bass solos of all time with the intro to 1987's 'Sweet Child O'Mine'.

And he insists it naturally came to him.

He told Bass Player magazine: “It just happened. Really, it’s all a product of what you hear and what you think is right for the part – I’ve never tried to force any sort of bassline.”
