Beethoven
The award-winning writer returned with another hit movie in 1992 marking the first of the 'Beethoven' film series which eventually was comprised of eight films. John wrote the screenplay under the pseudonym Edmond Dantès with Amy Holden Jones to tell the story of a St. Bernard dog named after the composer Ludwig van Beethoven and owned by the Newton family. Starring Charles Grodin and Bonnie Hunt as George and Alice Newton, 'Beethoven' centres on the beloved pooch as he gets into mischief - much to George's annoyance.
