Mr. Mom

The same year, John wrote the screenplay for the comedy starring Michael Keaton, Teri Garr, Jeffrey Tambor, Ann Jillian, Christopher Lloyd and Martin Mull. It tells the story of Jack Butler who becomes a stay-at-home dad after he losing his engineering job during the 1980s recession and his wife returns to work. 'Mr. Mom' became a huge success leading John to sign a three-picture deal with Universal Pictures for $30 million.
