Henry II's death
One of Nostradamus’s oldest prophecies is related to the death of the former King of France, Henry II.
In his book, Nostradamus wrote: “The young lion will overcome the older one”, stating that he would 'pierce his eyes through a golden cage', resulting in “two wounds” that would provoke a “cruel death'.
Henry II died in 1559 after a young soldier drove splinters into his eyes, causing him a very painful death.
