Edward VIII’s wife died on April 24, 1986, at the age of 89, following severe symptoms of bronchopneumonia. The woman for whom Edward abdicated was originally going to be buried next to him as well as next to her father, at Green Mount Cemetery in Baltimore. However, it was later agreed that both of them would be buried at the Royal Burial Ground in Frogmore.
