Queen Victoria
British monarch Queen Victoria was born Princess Alexandrina Victoria of Kent, on May 24, 1819.
Victoria - whose husband Prince Albert died on 14 December, 1861 aged 42 - died at the age of 81 on 22 January, 1901 after struggling with weakness and rheumatism symptoms, as well as with cataracts.
With a reign that lasted 63 years, seven months, and two days, Victoria was the longest-reigning British monarch and the longest-reigning queen regnant in world history, until her great-great-granddaughter Queen Elizabeth II surpassed her on 9 September 2015.
Elizabeth's reign eventually lasted 70 years.
