The Italian PM launched a civil lawsuit against a man who used deepfake software to superimpose her face onto explicit adult videos, seeking €100,000 in damages for a domestic violence fund. After faked images of her in lingerie spread, she joked that they had "improved" her appearance, but fiercely warned about the underlying danger on social media: "The issue however goes beyond me. Deepfakes are a dangerous tool because they can deceive, manipulate, and target anyone. I can defend myself, many others cannot." She has since filed to trademark her voice across the EU.
