Rocky Johnson
Before there was Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, the wrestling world looked up to his father, Rocky Johnson.
The trailblazing star paved the way for Black wrestlers across the US, becoming the first African American tag champions in WWE history alongside Tony Atlas in 1983.
He died aged 75 in January 2020 of a pulmonary embolism, which was caused by a blood clot cause by a deep vein thrombosis in his leg.
His son Dwayne said in a statement: "I'm in pain. You lived a very full, very hard, barrier breaking life and left it all in the ring. I love you dad and I'll always be your proud and grateful son."
