Panettiere's passing at the age of 36 was announced on Sunday (16.08.26) by her father Alan 'Skip' Panettiere.

He said in a statement shared by the star's representative: "It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden.

"She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen."

Panettiere's cause of death was not disclosed in the announcement, although police in Greenville, South Carolina have said there were "no signs of foul play".
