The Breakers musician confessed that he was "nearly crying" before going on stage at Lollapalooza and had called his parents David and Victoria Beckham for a confidence boost.

In a video he posted on Instagram, Cruz said: "It's Lollapalooza day. I am very nervous... Just the fact that people aren't even there just to see us. That's the thing.

"I mean, I'm so grateful for this opportunity. I feel like I understand the privilege that I've been given and I just want to give the best show and be able to show people who I really am and show people what I can do.

"It's going to be fun, but... I was on the phone to my mum and dad just now, and I was telling them how they can stream it and then I almost started crying over the comfort of being at home playing with the boys."
