In 2019, music legend Sir Rod Stewart announced he was in the clear following a private two-year battle with prostate cancer, diagnosed during a routine check-up in 2016. Having caught the disease early, he underwent successful treatment and has since actively urged men to get regular check-ups.

The Maggie May singer also previously survived thyroid cancer in 2000.
