Dragonheart (1996)

The film is directed by Rob Cohen and sees disillusioned dragon slayer Sir Bowen (Dennis Quaid) join forces with last remaining dragon Draco (voiced by Sean Connery) to end the despotic rule of King Einon (David Thewlis).

Dragonheart received mixed reviews from the critics but was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the Academy Awards.
