The Beastmaster (1982)

The sword and sorcery epic is loosely based on Alice Norton's 1959 novel The Beast Master and tells the story of Dar (Marc Singer) – a man capable of communicating with animals as he does battle with an evil wizard and his army.

The Beastmaster wasn't particularly successful during its initial cinematic run but exposure on the small screen spawned two sequels and a TV series based on Dar's adventures.
