Margot put so much effort into training for her role as controversial American figure skater Tonya Harding in the 2017 film I, Tonya that she suffered a herniated disc.

She told The Hollywood Reporter: "There were lots of bumps and bruises, lots of blisters. I herniated a disc in my neck. My arms started going numb for a month, but it was the disc getting irritated. And then I properly herniated, and I was very aware when that happened. It's really painful."
