A varied acting career
Andrews’ success in the 1960s led to further acclaimed performances in Torn Curtain (1966), Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967) and Victor/Victoria (1982), the latter performance winning her a Golden Globe.
She became known for her versatility, equally at home in light comedies and powerful dramas.
She said: “I never wanted to be pigeonholed. I wanted to keep surprising people.”
