John Boyega has been vocal about his lack of interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The ‘Star Wars’ actor compared working on major film franchises to being in a “luxury jail,” suggesting it can limit opportunities to explore other projects.

While there have been rumours circulating about his potential involvement in the MCU, Boyega made it clear that it was “not in the vision for [him].”

He explained: “I want to do nuanced things. I want to donate my services to original indie films that come with new, fresh ideas, because I know it’s real hard to top ‘Iron Man’ in that universe.”
