Superman - 11 July

After several years away from the big screen, Superman will be landing back in cinemas this summer.

The DC superhero film will star David Corenswet as the Man of Steel and follows the character as he tries to balance his Earth and Kryptonian sides while Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) plots the hero's downfall.

'Superman' will mark the beginning of the DC Universe on the silver screen and is set to introduce a host of other heroes, such as Hawkgirl (Isabella Merced), Guy Gardener's Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion) and Supergirl (Milly Alcock).

Director James Gunn – who is also the co-CEO of DC with Peter Safran – previously teased 'Superman' would be a "pretty family-friendly" experience.

He said: "I start with a place that’s very hopeful, fun … but incredibly grounded [and] incredibly serious all at the same time."
