David Bowie thought she was the future of music
Despite her confidence concerns, Lorde pushed on and continued to strive for musical success.
In 2016, she performed a tribute to pop legend David Bowie - who had passed away just weeks earlier at the age of 69 - at the BRIT Awards and it was later revealed that he believed she was the "the future of music".
Less than a year later, Lorde released 'Green Light' to critical acclaim, which was part of her sophomore album 'Melodrama' and embarked on her first world tour.
Reflecting on the death of Bowie, she said: "I feel like the whole time spent writing this record, I've had him in my thoughts, I've had him in my heart."
