Noel once called the British indie pop group Keane a bunch of "squares" and took aim at the Tom Chaplin-led band for their clean-cut backgrounds.

He said: "I feel sorry for Keane. No matter how hard they try they’ll always be squares. Even if one of them started injecting heroin people would go, ‘Yeah but your dad was a vicar, good night.'"
