X-Men
As well as being an all-round great watch, ‘X-Men’ is perhaps Hugh Jackman’s most important movie of his entire career, as it was this very picture that made the actor a household name.
The 2000 film is Jackman’s debut as his iconic role the Wolverine, and the star manages to perfectly capture the comic book character’s brooding and bad-a** nature, even though he hadn’t even heard of the hero before he signed on to the flick.
Years later, he admitted: “I don't think I understood what it meant to the wider world.
“I wasn't a big comic book fan, in particular, growing up. I had never heard of ‘X-Men’. In some ways, I'm really glad I didn't know. Because, I really approached Logan as I would any other character.
“Yes, he had claws coming out of him, and yes he could heal himself, yeah he had crazy hair. But, for me, it's just another character to embody with all the human-ness of him.”
