Russell is stepfather to 10-year-old Future Zahir Wilburn, her child with ex-partner Future and he insists being a stepparent has been “one of the greatest gifts” in his life.

He told 'Good Morning America' in 2020: "Being a stepdad ... has taught me, really, what love is like, what life is really like, [and] how God intends us to love. One of the greatest gifts in the world is children."
